Attendance Tracking
Our contact e-mail is Billy@focusedfitness.com.
As you know we have a new system of tracking attendance for both Crossfit and our martial arts programs. We need to make sure you sign in to ensure the system works. There are two primary purposes for tracking attendance. First, is to help in becoming more organized from a business perspective. Martha has been incredibly helpful in getting the gym more organized. The attendance kiosk helps us see who is coming when and also enables us to more accurately determine when memberships are due to be renewed. In order for the gym and school to grow we have to run it as a business. Second, we feel the attendance tracking will be helpful in helping us achieve a basic mission. Our mission is to help you achieve your goals and to have a positive impact on your lives physically, mentally, and spiritually. In order for us to achieve our mission and you to achieve your goals you have to show up. By tracking attendance we will better be able to keep you accountable. If you do not show up then you should expect either a phone call, email or both. Remember whether your goal is to become more fit, lose weight, or earn your black belt the message is the same. Commit, show up, and don’t quit.

Public Goal Setting
For those who have been around for a while you have heard me speak about what I refer to as the success triad. There are three very important components which are needed to reach your potential in any physical endeavor. Those components are physical training, nutrition, and mental training. We spend quite a bit of time discussing the physical and nutritional components without adequate emphasis being placed on the mental component. We have recently started a kids fitness class called Kaizen Kids and we try to emphasize early on that a person’s brain is the most important body part even when dealing with physical training. Well, the same goes for adults. Next week, we will be starting a white board designated for the sharing of public goals. The attached article by Greg Amundson from the Crossfit Journal sparked the idea. It is an excellent article and, as Greg points out and I agree, the greatest adaptation to both Crossfit and martial arts occurs between the ears.
